Something A Little Different

In 2006 NASA launched the New Horizons satellite to visit Pluto for the first time. Now 9 years later, on July 14th New Horizons will fly past Pluto and we will get our closest photos ever of the frozen planet some 7.5 billion kilometers (4.7 billion miles) from us.  This photo of Pluto (right) and its largest moon, Charon, was taken in the past couple of weeks from several million kilometers from the planet. Like Mars, Pluto is reddish in colour.
