    Oilprice.com reports an oil glut is forecast for 2014. It may be that, by the time we exhaust readily available supplies of oil, mainstream technologies won’t need much of it. We dumped and burned gasoline in the Mississippi River as a dangerously volatile unwanted byproduct of oil extraction just over 100 years ago. Assuming an absence of technological change seems pretty risky.
