Pluto

Discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930, our knowledge of what Pluto looked like remained a blur until today. Even the Hubble Space Telescope could not get a clear picture of this remote planet some 3.7 billion miles away.  Today the New Horizons satellite, launched in 2006, finally arrived at Pluto and took this wonderous photo of a planet sitting near the edge of our Solar System.
